The Penny Family

Four years ago I packed up my camera bag, a couple of lenses, jumped in my car, and headed to Humble, Texas for a newborn photography workshop. I was very early on in my photography journey and grabbing every opportunity to learn my newfound craft. When I got to my destination, I met a warm and friendly room of other photographers. The workshop was hosted by the very talented Leigh Ripps, of Fresh Light Photography, but I digress.

I pulled up a seat on the couch and struck up a small conversation with the pretty lady sitting next to me. It turn out her name was Rebecca Penny. I was very new on my journey, and I believe she was too.

About two years later we met again on a weekend photography retreat in Frederickburg, Texas. This time we had the chance to spend more time together and get to know each other a bit more. Since then, we have crossed paths in online forums and groups. During these last four years, our talents and businesses have grown immeasurably.

 Fast forward to this summer when I received a message from Rebecca on Facebook about possibly photographing her family this fall at their lake house happy place in Canyon Lake. Ummm, YES!!! I would be honored!

So, we made a plan, set a date, and made it happen.

Rebecca, thank you for the opportunity to capture some of your precious family memories. I’m so grateful we were able to do it a place that brings you and your family so much joy!
