Welcome to the March Digest. A monthly recap of my work, personal life, wedding day tips, and more from Amy Odom Photography.
A big congratulations to Liz and David. Their Horseshoe Bay Resort Wedding will be featured on the front page of Style Me Pretty at the end of May. With more than 600 submissions a week, this is a huge honor. I’ll be sharing more of their beautiful day once the publication goes live.
A BIG thank you to all our wonderful clients! Because of you, we received The Knot’s Best of Weddings 2023. We couldn’t do any of it without you!
Dan and I headed to Savannah for a little getaway before the busy spring season. We had an amazing trip. The city is full of romance, southern charm, and great food. This would be a lovely destination for a honeymoon or an anniversary trip. I highly recommend visiting in March when the Azaleas are in full bloom!
And, I’ll forever be dreaming of the grits and cornbread we had at Cotton and Rye!
I blogged all about it and you can view it HERE
We also celebrated March weddings with Sarah and Jake and Alex and Taylor. I’ll never stop saying I have the best job in the world!
I was fortunate to be asked to photograph the Grand Opening of the newest luxury wedding venue in the hill country. The Videre Estate.
Alex and Taylor’s romantic spring Gatsby-inspired wedding at the historic Hotel Emma in San Antonio. See it here.
The most efficient way to get through the family photos on wedding day is to start with the largest group first and then remove people as you go. This will speed up the process and get your family on to enjoying cocktail hour sooner!
No matter your floral budget…SPLURGE on your bridal bouquet! It’s the most photographed piece of floral art of the day. Your bouquet will make an appearance in your bridal portraits, bridal party photos, ceremony aisle shots, family photos, and husband and wife portraits.
I FINALLY found my holy grail mascara! It doesn’t flake or run down my face when I’m hot and shooting all day. ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr
Binging Next in Fashion on Netflix. I’m inspired by watching other creatives do their thing…designers, chefs, writers, cinematographers, you name it!
And speaking of chefs, I love following Joy the Baker on IG. She’s quirky and cute and lives in the most adorable home in NOLA.
Dan and I are late to the party but we finally ate at Aba. It was worth the hype we’d been hearing. I’m now on the hunt for a recipe for a sticky date cake!
I bought this set of everyday dinnerware. It’s pretty and practical for casual use. I don’t know about you but I like my food plated pretty, even at home.
I’m SO HAPPY it’s baseball season!!!! Don’t hate me, but I’m a Dodgers fan! Baseball and editing go together for me like peanut butter and jelly 🙂
And finally, we ended the last day of the month with an engagement session with Camille and Ryan. Spring in Texas is showing off ya’ll!
We’re looking forward to a full month in April with 5 incredible weddings, and several bridal and engagement sessions!
xx,
Amy
