The historic Hotel Emma wedding venue and hotel was once a 19th-century brewhouse. It has been remodeled into a riverfront hotel and much of the charm of the old architecture remains. Today, it is also a luxury wedding venue in San Antonio.
Taylor and Alex had a modern Gatsby-inspired wedding day at the iconic Hotel Emma located in downtown San Antonio in the pearl district. It was the perfect mix of elegance and history. The area is also famous for the Pearl Brewery and is the perfect location for all your wedding guests to experience San Antonio. Hotel Emma is the perfect San Antonio wedding venue and one of my favorite venues for both intimate weddings and larger weddings. Their big day was perfectly planned and coordinated by Sweet August Events.
Alex and her closest friends, mom, and sister had a leisurely morning in the Otto Suite, one of the many gorgeous spaces at the hotel. The upstairs bedroom was the perfect location for Alex to put on her wedding dress. I love the romantic feel of the room with the antique furnishings and the shabby chic walls. This beautiful space makes the perfect getting-ready location for the bride.
The Brewmeister’s Office was the gathering space for Taylor and all his groomsmen pre-ceremony. This small but beautifully detailed space has much of its original design from the tiled floors and walls. It was a perfect hangout for Taylor to calm his nerves and have a few drinks with his guys pre wedding. We also used the space to take some incredible wedding portraits of Taylor getting ready.
Taylor and Alex had their spring wedding ceremony in the light-filled courtyard. It was the perfect location for an intimate affair as they said their “I do’s” in front of friends and family. For many of their guests, including the bride’s family, this was a destination wedding. I love the way the light pours through the courtyard enhancing the space and adding to the romance of the day. Romantic flowers by Yarrow and James lined the aisles.
Cocktail hour followed the ceremony in Cellar J. Guests mingled in luxury as the dined on passed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails.
During cocktail hour we were able to use many of the gorgeous spaces throughout the hotel for Taylor and Alex’s intimate wedding portraits including the library just off the hotel lobby.
The evening concluded in the Elephant Cellar, also known as the Elephant Room, while the guests dined on catered plated dinners provided by the hotel. Later guests danced to the music provided by a live DJ in the Elephant Cellar and mingled in the courtyard for good conversations and laughter.
The evening concluded with Alex and Taylor walking across the hotel bridge through a shower of cheering fans and a tornado of confetti.
