A Texas State University Engagement Session.

I love when couples choose locations that are meaningful to tell their story. Maddy and Steve’s love story began in their college town of San Marcos, Texas. They decided to do a Texas State University engagement session and take it back to where it all started!

How They Met.

Maddy and Steven’s love story began September 12, 2015 in their college town, San Marcos, TX. While they both graduated from Texas State University and had mutual friends, it wasn’t until later that God’s perfect timing brought them together. Maddy was visiting San Marcos with her friends for game day. Meanwhile, Steven had just left a wedding and was driving through San Marcos when his friend sent him a text asking him to come to hang out. As fate would have it, they ended up in the same bar, hanging out with the same group of friends, when Maddy caught Steven’s eye. Steven started talking to Maddy, and before leaving, asked for her number. Maddy was a little hesitant but ended up giving it to him. Later that night, they talked on the phone and decided to meet up on the square. They ran into each other again, and Steven took Maddy dancing. It was obvious to both of them that sparks started to fly… and the rest is history.

The Proposal.

On April 26, 2019, Steven and Maddy closed on their first home together. Maddy wanted to take pictures in their new home, so Steven used this to his advantage. Steven drove Maddy to the house on April 27th for their “photoshoot”. While taking pictures, Steven got down on one knee and proposed to Maddy in front of their first home. Maddy said, “YES!” but this was just the beginning of the big surprise. As they stepped into their new home, the house was decked out in decorations and goodies. Maddy was in shock as all of their best friends and family started to show up to the house. Steven had secretly invited all of their best friends and family to celebrate. It was truly a special day that neither of them will forget.

Maddy and Steven, you two are incredible, and I am beyond excited for your September wedding at Park 31. It’s going to be magical!
