Liz and David are from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. When David landed his dream job working for Texas A&M football they decided to have a destination wedding in Texas. “We are from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Most Baton Rouge Brides have large weddings at the local country clubs. We wanted something smaller and more intimate yet beautiful. When we came across Horseshoe Bay we immediately knew it was the perfect destination for our nuptials.” – Liz. Liz knew on her first trip it was the perfect location for her wedding vision. It was the perfect moment to mark the transition of their new lives together as a married couple in a new state. Liz is a classic and dreamt of having an Old Hollywood-inspired wedding. When it comes to creating a timeless and elegant wedding, few themes evoke as much glamour and sophistication as Old Hollywood. Imagine a wedding that channels the golden era of the 1930s and 1940s, with its opulent décor, classic cocktails, and stunning fashion. And what better place to host such a magical event than at the heart of the Texas Hill Country, in the romantic lakeside luxury of Horseshoe Bay Resort wedding venue? With its ideal setting, breathtaking views of Lake LBJ, and luxurious amenities, Horseshoe Bay Resort provided the perfect backdrop for an Old Hollywood-inspired wedding day for Liz and David.
Liz wanted something that captured the elegance of old Hollywood with elements that made sense for the winter wedding. She started with emerald green and the design webbed from there.
As the big day approached we were all watching the weather. If you live in Texas you know February weather can be finicky! As luck would have it, the weather cooperated and it was a beautiful day in Texas with mild temperatures.
Their wedding ceremony on the lawn at Horseshoe Bay Resort was nothing short of breathtaking. Set against the stunning backdrop of Lake LBJ. The custom acrylic aisle with the couple’s monogram provided a beautiful and personalized touch. As the bride walked down the aisle, the guests were captivated by her beauty and the elegance of the setting. There were so many memorable moments. But perhaps one of the most memorable was when the talented solo vocalist performed beautiful worship music. This special musical moment added a spiritual and emotional dimension to the proceedings.
As Liz and David exchanged vows and rings, the lake provided a stunning natural backdrop, reflecting the beauty and joy of the occasion. With the sun setting down on them and their loved ones gathered around , the ceremony was a celebration of love and faith. It was a truly unforgettable moment that will stay with the bride, groom, and their guests for a lifetime.
After the stunning ceremony on the lawn, the reception at Horseshoe Bay Resort was an equally elegant affair. The Horseshoe Bay Yacht Club Ballroom was transformed into a starry night, with the ceiling draped in twinkling lights that created a romantic and magical atmosphere.
As guests made their way to their seats, they were greeted by an exquisite tablescape that featured fine china, elegant florals, and lush linens. Each place setting was a work of art, with personalized menus that added a special touch to the occasion. The centerpiece arrangements were equally stunning, with a mix of blooms in shades of white and greenery that added a touch of softness and romance to the reception.
The guests danced the night away to the entertainment of a live band. As the stars twinkled above and the lake glistened in the distance outdoors, the guests filled the dance floor with energy and enthusiasm.
Liz had an outfit change for her reception and wore a spectacular custom jumpsuit made by Pedram Couture from New Orleans, LA.
To cap off an unforgettable night, the bride and groom exited the party through a second line, a tradition that pays homage to their Louisiana roots. As the guests lined up to wave the couple off, the live band led Liz and David onto the lawn.
As they made their way through the cheering guests, a spray of pyrotechnics lit up the sky, adding a touch of magic and drama to the occasion. And as the couple reached the end of the line, they hopped onto a boat that awaited them at the dock, ready to sail off into the night and start their new life together.
It was a fitting end to a truly spectacular wedding, a celebration of love, family, and tradition that blended the best of the past and present. The memories of this magical night will stay with the couple and their guests for a lifetime, a testament to the enduring power of love and the beauty of a perfectly executed wedding.
