An Early Summer Lady Bird Lake Engagement Session

In the heart of the Lone Star State, nestled within the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, lies Lady Bird Lake, the perfect backdrop for a romantic engagement session. Sasha and Shelby wanted to capture their story in the beauty of the city where they met and fell in love. With its eclectic mix of culture, music, and art, downtown Austin was the perfect canvas for their engagement session. This popular spot holds a special place in their hearts. As the gentle waters of Lady Bird Lake meander through the heart of the city, it provided the ideal setting combining both nature and urban charm.

How They Met

“Sasha and I met on Hinge a few months after I moved to Austin with my brother. I downloaded the app because I didn’t know anyone here, and I figured, why not, we’ll see what happens. Sasha and I went on our first date a couple of weeks after matching on the app. At the time, I was living in Georgetown (a little north of Austin), and he was living in South Austin, so we decided to meet at one of his favorite bars downtown, Rustic Tap! It’s an LSU/Saints bar, so he figured it would be a cool place to take a Louisiana girl. But let me tell you about the best part of the date and the moment when I knew Sasha was going to be an important person in my life. On my way into Austin driving from Georgetown, one of my back tires blew out, causing me to pull over onto the shoulder of the road. I immediately called my brother crying and explaining to him that I needed him to help me. I then texted Sasha telling him what had happened and that I was so sorry, but I wouldn’t be able to make our date and I hoped we could reschedule. He immediately called me and told me to send him my location because he was on his way to put my spare tire on for me. At first, I was hesitant because Sasha didn’t know me and offered to do something that he did not have to do. But I sent him my location, and he quickly came to my rescue (with a police officer to sit behind us while he changed my tire! So that is where we meet for the first time- on the side of the road while he put my spare tire on. And we did still get to go on that date afterward! I texted a friend that night and told her I had just met my future husband, and now here we are!” – Shelby
