Wish Well House Wedding Venue

Wedding Planning

When owner Katy Bohl invited me to photograph her new  Wish Well House wedding venue, I was elated. This historic house in Georgetown, Texas has been the talk of the town for quite some time now. I was captivated with watching the remodeling process and followed along as she posted updates on her Instagram stories. So naturally, I couldn’t wait to see the final result of the renovation in person.

Wish Well House

Georgetown, Texas Wedding Venue

This stunning venue located in Georgetown, Texas is only 20 miles north of Austin. While the venue itself feels far from the city, its proximity to Austin provides you with an abundance of options for hotels and transportation. The venue is also close to the quaint Town Square of Georgetown, providing plenty for your guests to do when they’re not celebrating with you. The Wish Well House wedding venue is the perfect middle ground for someone looking to step away from urban life on their special day, without having to leave the amenities behind.

History of the Wish Well House Wedding Venue

Before it was Wish Well House, this building was the first Hotel in Georgetown, Texas. When Katy Bohl purchased the property in 2018 it was in less than ideal shape, and years of renovations stood ahead of her. She christened the space Wish Well House, as a play on the term “We Wish You Well”, a message that she hopes to send to all the venue’s future couples. The property opened in August of 2021, offering a community cocktail lounge during the off-season and booking for weddings through 2022 and 2023.

A Modern Wedding Venue

Wish Well House is made up of five main spaces, each beautifully tied together with a modern color palette, retro-inspired finishes, and common pattern themes. Each space had a purpose in mind during its creation, but couples are encouraged to mix it up and use the spaces in a unique way on their special day!

Private Rooms One and Two:

These gorgeous spaces make up the second floor of Wish Well House and are the perfect spaces for couples to get ready with their wedding party. Room One – the bridal suite – has a very feminine feel, with wicker chairs facing a counter and mirrors for makeup application and hairstyling. Room Two – the Groom’s quarters – offers a leather sofa and foosball table, providing a perfect spot to take photos and kill time before the ceremony. Both spaces offer a kitchenette and Smeg fridge to keep your pre-wedding beverages cold.

The Courtyard:

The Courtyard at Wish Well House is a beautiful space for an outdoor ceremony. White brick walls with crawling ivy provide privacy for your group and create a gorgeous backdrop for your vows. Or, you can choose to face your ceremony towards the house itself, with gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows and trees perfectly framing the view. With tan and white checked tiles, a perfectly manicured lawn, and unique diamond shingles, this outdoor space has a variety of uses and a plethora of stunning details.

The Cocktail Lounge:

This indoor space is a blank canvas for your cocktail hour vision. With white walls, natural wood molding, and a white brick fireplace, you can really use this space in any way you would like. Two-story ceilings and two rows of large 12-paned windows give a feeling of grandeur to the space and provide tons of natural light. Whether you’re looking for traditional high-top tables or some sofa vignettes, this space can transform to fit your wedding.

The Main Hall:

With exposed white beams and white wood-paneled walls, the Main Hall at Wish Well House is the perfect space for a modern wedding with a rustic feel. Lined with French doors facing the courtyard, the space gets a ton of natural light, and can truly transform to fit any couple. The rectangular shape lends well for couples looking for long banquet-style tables, and this space, in particular, gives homage to the charm and history of the building.
