Focus: (v.) to concentrate one’s attention

Focus Friday Vol. 1

In an effort to practice more gratitude in my life I’ve decided to write a weekly post to focus on what’s important in my life, share my ups and downs, and clear my mind.

The last few weeks have been a doozy for me personally, and I need to take a deep breath and really be present in my life. First, my mom became very ill and was hospitalized with septic pneumonia. After a week in the hospital, she’s now home with me to rest and recover. Two weeks later my daddy had an emergency heart catheterization and a stent placed in the Widowmaker artery. Thankful for the care they have received and the healing hands laid upon them. Sometimes, life ain’t no joke ya’ll!

This week:

1. I photographed one of my lovely engaged couples at the famous Mattie’s! Thanks for the good time and all the laughs, Tim and Justina!
2. I met and photographed the sweetest baby girl named Savannah. She also happens to belong to amazing friends! Thank you, Suzanne and Frank!
3. I went to a The Hybrid Collective conference in San Antonio for three days learning from some of the industry’s best wedding and film photographers. Mind Blowing! It’s so important to me to continually be growing, learning, and stretching myself in my craft. I got to meet the incredibly talented, Lauren Fair, and shoot a styled session led by her. I also made some new friends and ran into some old ones. Sometimes I wonder if this is real life!
4. The best quote I read this week, “The cave you fear holds the treasure you seek.” ~ Joseph Campbell

So ya! It was a pretty great week!
