A Sunny Spring Wedding in the Texas Hill Country

Canyonwood Ridge Weddings | Dripping Springs, Texas

Amanda and Taylor are a complete joy to be around and their springtime Canyonwood Ridge wedding day was total proof! They had so many lovely family and friends there excited to hear them say “I do” and celebrate the night away!

The rain had circled the days leading up to their wedding but they could not have had better weather! Sunshine and blue skies all the way for their magical Canyonwood Ridge wedding! WAHOO!!!

Taylor and Amanda read their vows to each other under the sunlit trees at Canyonwood Ridge. After they shared their vows they turned around, and Taylor got his first view of his future wife! Cue the tears!! I’m not crying, you’re crying! It was so beautiful!

There were so many favorite moments from their day. Amanda and her dad stole the show at the reception with their spunky choreographed father-daughter dance!

Amanda and Taylor’s Love Story

Amanda and Taylor met on a weekend in Austin at a mutual college friend’s lake house. It was Amanda’s senior year at A&M, and the year after Taylor had graduated from A&M as well. They were introduced that day on the lake and stayed in contact the weeks after until they finally decided to start going on dates.

Their perfect date night includes going to the grocery store to get food for one of their many favorite recipes (they love to cook!), which usually consists of either chicken piccata, fish tacos, or steaks along with a bottle of wine and a pint of ice cream. Included in that is a great drink, music and dancing, and ending the night with a good movie and snuggling their dog Dixie.

The Proposal

“Taylor proposed during the height of COVID-19 in San Antonio on a hiking trail with some of our very close friends. He proposed in the evening as the sun was setting. It was beautiful! He had gone up two days before to ask for my parent’s blessing in Dallas, and I had no idea. His original plan to propose had been canceled THREE times due to COVID-19 restrictions (our 2 flights were canceled for the trips we had planned, and our hike in Fredericksburg/wine tour was also cancelled). On the day of the proposal I had no idea it was happening. My friends had asked me the morning of when I thought he might propose (even though they already knew it was that day), and I had told them it for sure wouldn’t be until at least the fall or winter of 2020 (definitely wrong on that one! lol).” – Amanda
