Prospect House Wedding | Dripping Springs, Texas

Days like today are what my dreams are made of!
As a creative artist and wedding photographer, I believe it’s important always to be learning, stretching myself, and reawakening my creativity. I deserve it, and my clients deserve it. This February I spent the day immersed in Kayla Barker’s Fine Art Wedding Workshop at the Prospect House in Dripping Springs, Texas. The Prospect House is a modern wedding and event venue seeded in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. This was a creative workshop for film photographers and hybrid photographers (those of us who use both film and digital mediums to produce our work). The latter category is where I fall, but wish to venture less and less with the comfort of my digital camera. I love film for so many reasons. It’s romantic and nostalgic for sure. But, film has taught me to slow down, look, breath, and think long before I press the shutter. This slowing down and thoughtfulness has made me a better photographer and in some ways, to see with new eyes. These are the type of things my creative souls needs. I love to surround myself and be inspired by other artists to see things in a new way. Then, apply the tips and techniques to my work and give it my own flair. I believe that it’s when I’m most uncomfortable that and I push through it the most significant return prevails.
All of this was made possible by an amazing team of vendors!
