Earle Harrison House and Pape Gardens Wedding | A Southern Fall Wedding

The first time I chatted with Victoria on the phone, I knew we were a perfect match! She’s a southern girl through and through and wanted to have that Charleston feel for her wedding with the big white mansion and beautiful gardens. I’m not going to lie…my heart skipped a beat! She could not have picked a better venue than the Earle Harrison House and Pape Gardens in Waco, Texas, to make her wedding dreams come true.

Their picturesque wedding took place on a perfectly cool and sunny fall day. It could not have been better!

How They Met

Victoria had moved to Houston for work, and while walking her dog one night, she met a girl who was also walking her dog. They instantly became BFFs. She mentioned that she had the “perfect” guy for her, but Victoria refused to be set up. Luckily,  she didn’t listen and one day after work while Victoria was taking out the trash, she (Aaron included) walked out onto Victoria’s porch to greet her. He thought I was pretty, and Victoria admits she thought he was cute. They convinced me to go to dinner on a double date.

Their First Date

“We went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant with our friends, Jonathan and Nicole. I don’t think we spoke one word the entire dinner. After dinner, they all wanted to go to a haunted house, so I reluctantly went along to “go with the flow,” but I was living alone and watch way too many criminal drama TV shows. I am the world’s biggest baby when it comes to scary stuff. I legit still have nightmares from the haunted house, and that was three years ago. ANYWAY, we went through the house, and after I almost knocked a guy out that jumped out at us, and screamed the whole way, the joke is I grabbed onto Aaron and never let go… What can I say, his muscles were so nice.” – Victoria

The Proposal

“We were on our annual Red River, NM ski trip, and it was the last day of the trip. I had gotten somewhat hurt, but being the true Russian Olympic Skier that I am; I powered through the day. I was done, and Aaron and our friend Matt begged for one more run. I remember thinking on the way up the lift that this would have been another good place for him to propose, and why didn’t he want to marry me? By the time I got off of the ski lift, I had worked myself up into a borderline cry moment, so I turned to the boys and said, “I’ll get a head start and meet y’all at the normal spot”. At the very same time, they both yelled, “NO! We are taking a picture!” So, I huffed and puffed and climbed back up the hill a little bit. Matt was holding the phone like he was taking the picture, but he was videoing. Aaron got down on a knee and asked me to marry him. Well jury’s still out if he actually got to ask because I starting screaming yes, and jumping up and down. He hasn’t said no to this wedding, so I’m assuming somewhere amid my excitement, he asked?” – Victoria

Congratulations Victoria and Aaron! It was such a joy to watch the two of you join hands and promise yourselves to each other. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together. Enjoy your honeymoon in Hawaii!!!
