Twenty one years ago my life changed forever.

At exactly 9:02 pm I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. The first to call me mom.

Ethan Bryan, I can’t begin to express how much joy you have brought into our lives.

Truthfully, you made parenting easy. Sometimes, I wonder if it was you who parented me.

I could list a thousand adjectives and still never fully describe you, your heart, and your character.

You have a smile that lights up our souls, a heart as big as Texas, and an unbelievable personal drive to do good in your life.

You, like me, have always loved books. Words and stories stir our soul. You would get lost in your room for hours with your nose buried in a book.

To this day, I know not to borrow a book from you and bend the spine or dog ear a page.

This love of books and gaining knowledge has and will always serve you well in your life.

I was secretly (wink) very excited when you decided to pursue your degree at my Alma Mater. Guns Up!

Last weekend we gathered to celebrate you and your hard work. We could not be more proud of you.

Those long days in the lab and longer nights burning the midnight oil in your dorm room did not go unnoticed.

Our hearts are full with pride.

This weekend we celebrate you.
