A Spring Engagement Session in San Antonio at The McNay Art Museum

Engagements

Meet Catherine and Reuben, a couple whose love story was destined to be. They first crossed paths in college but moved in different circles. After graduation, Catherine moved to Austin while Reuben settled in San Antonio. Fate intervened a few years later when they were both invited to a mutual friend’s birthday party, where they ‘re-met’ and felt an immediate connection. Their shared history and newfound love quickly blossomed into a beautiful relationship. Now, they are excitedly planning their dream wedding for early 2025 at The Chandelier of Gruene, where they will celebrate their love surrounded by family, friends, and the charm of Texas Hill Country.

Why The McNay Art Museum is the Perfect Location for San Antonio Engagement Photos

The McNay Art Museum in San Antonio is one of the city’s favorite engagement session locations, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a great location. The museum’s gorgeous architecture, with its Spanish Colonial Revival design, offers a stunning and timeless backdrop for San Antonio engagement photos. The beautifully landscaped gardens and serene courtyard is a hidden gem and provide a variety of location options.

The Engagement Session at The McNay Art Museum

Catherine and Reuben put a lot of thought into the location for their engagement session, ultimately choosing The McNay Art Museum for its beautiful blend of art, architectural design, and nature. We began the session using museum’s gorgeous architecture in the front, using the intricate details and grand structures. Next, we had a photo permit to allow us access to the courtyard and gardens. This is the ideal spot for capturing romantic moments amidst the vibrant flowers and lush greenery. We had the whole space to ourselves!

During their engagement session we focused on capturing the natural chemistry between them. Their candid moments—laughter shared in the gardens, stolen glances, and gentle touches—brought their love story to life in the photos in a documentary. style. We incorporated some directed poses to create artistic and timeless images. The museum’s stunning architecture provided the perfect backdrop for these posed moments, creating beautiful images highlighting their elegance and connection. All in all, these two are at ease in front of the camera.

The soft, golden light of the spring eveinig played a crucial role. It added romantic glow and illuminated the vibrant colors of the gardens. This perfect combination of natural light and thoughtful composition resulted in a collection of engagement photos that beautifully reflect Catherine and Reuben’s love. But most of all, it’s the best compliment at the end of it when they turned to me and said, ” We had a great time and that was SO MUCH FUN!”

Thank you, Catherine and Reuben, for trusting me. Your love and enthusiasm made this session truly unforgettable, and I am honored to be a part of your journey.
