Congratulations! You're engaged!

Once the excitement from the engagement begins to calm it's time to start planning your wedding! Woohoo!!!

Don't let this daunting task become overwhelming! The key is to decide on your overall vision for your wedding and maintain it throughout the planning process.

A huge piece of the puzzle is determining where you'd like to get married.
Are you an outdoor garden type of girl? Rustic barn more your style? Or, are you a traditional ballroom type of gal? So many options!

As an Austin wedding photographer, I have compiled a list of some of my favorite wedding venues throughout Austin and the picturesque Texas Hill Country.

Take a look around and I hope you find it helpful!

1. Know your wedding date.
2. Know your approximate guest count.
3. Know your wedding style.

These three tips will help you narrow down your list of possibilities!

Do you need a venue for 200 guests or 50 guests?
What does the venue provide versus what do you need?
Do you desire and indoor our outdoor ceremony?
And so on...

4. When do you want your wedding to take place?
Do you love the fall foliage or the spring flowers. Different venues shine during particular seasons.

5. How formal will your wedding be?
Formal black tie? Perhaps you'll consider a ballroom.
Semi-formal? Garden weddings or views of the Texas Hill Country might be right for you.
Casual? Maybe your a beach wedding gal!

6. While I can't guarantee that rain on your wedding day is good luck, it's something to consider when choosing your venue!
Rainy day weddings may require a little more flexibility and creativity. Opt for a venue that has more than one option for a ceremony/reception just in case!
