A Styled Adolphus Hotel Wedding
Photographing a wedding at the historic Adolphus Hotel has been a dream of mine. Specifically, I wanted the wedding to be in the grand 19th-floor ballroom of the hotel. In Dallas, The Adolphus is famous for its beautiful architecture with a slanted wall encased in white molding, and with near floor to ceiling windows. The light pours in the room, bounces around magically, and is everything I love!
When I got the chance to photograph this stylized Adolphus Hotel Wedding it was a definite yes!
The styling of this editorial using a unique color palette makes this a standout to be seen! I am literally obsessed with the wintermint (teal) and red color combination that brought this vision together. I also adore the use of the monochromatic red bouquet. This shoot was the design inspiration of the genius and ever so talented Max Owens Design. Every detail on the tablescape complimented the design perfectly.
Francesca looked exquisite in her delicate high-neck and long-sleeved lace ivory gown. Her look was complete with a mid-length layered veil and her monochromatic red bouquet. Brittany from Jones Beauty & Co. gave Francesca a soft and effortless dewy look that complimented her porcelain skin.
I captured this Adolphus Hotel wedding inspired shoot with my Pentax 645n on a combination of Porta 400 & Portra 800. I’m truly inspired and invigorated by pushing myself to shoot more film in 2021. There is nothing quite like the dreamy and timeless quality of film. Film processed and scanned by my lab, Photovision. Shoot exclusively styled as a Glow Up Challenge for the Develop Academy.
